Marine Salvage Solutions

Chad Blake, the owner of Harbor Shoppers, comes from a family with roots planted deep in the marine industry. It all started with running and operating a large multihull catamaran charter business in the Caribbean for almost fifteen years. Running a charter yacht gave Chad a high degree of knowledge and love for the Marine industry.

Chad knew the frustration of trying to source marine parts quickly to keep yacht charters on schedule without interruption. Over the years, with additional boat purchases and refits, he found that he had storage lockers filled with marine parts. Parts that varied from “may be useful someday” to “wrong part purchased” to “extra marine parts”.

He didn’t have time to sell these items himself. He needed a company that specialized in marine parts. A company that would not only connect buyers to his products he wanted to sell but would also provide guidance to purchase the correct parts he needed. Unfortunately, nothing like this existed.

With the help of friends and family, countless days and nights were spent developing Harbor Shoppers. We are an online marine e-commerce platform available for any customer around the world looking to buy or sell new and/or used marine products.

Marine Recycling

Harbor Shoppers’ focus is on reselling/recycling expanded with the 2017 hurricanes, Irma and Maria, that ripped through their home in the US Virgin Islands. In addition to the devastation of homes and businesses, over 63,000 yachts and boats were damaged and/or destroyed as a result of these catastrophic storms.

Thousands of boats in the Virgin Islands were tossed away with no option to recycle them or their parts. Harbor Shoppers knew there was a better way. The Harbor Shoppers team quickly went to work with insurance companies, government agencies, and local companies to bring damaged but resalable boats and boat parts to our website with the ability to market to a worldwide audience.

Harbor Shoppers was able to assist in recycling hundreds of boats and thousands of boat parts, keeping them out of landfills.

The full storage lockers of boat parts soon turned into the first Harbor Shoppers store located at Compass Point Marina on St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Since the initial pilot store opened, Harbor Shoppers has continued to grow opening additional locations in the United States and other Caribbean islands.

With the combination of brick and mortar stores and the online e-commerce platform built for qualified marine businesses and sellers to use, Harbor Shoppers offers an extensive marine inventory. Inventory consisting of hard to find/specialty products expanding to various locations around the world.
